Was God Created?

This question, along with other related questions and assumptions were asked by a Muslim with a seemingly sincere to understand how, in the face of confusion over religious and scientific claims that such a question could be adequately answered.

The question was asked: “What are the reasons for a brother to marry a second wife

My response to her question is this, The reason can be anything the potential husband desires within the hudud of Islam.  If he just desires a second or third wife, that is sufficient.  If he desires to help a widow by marrying her, alhamdulilah. If his current wife can not bear childen and he marries the second in the hope of progeny that is also alright.  There are a myriad of reasons why a Muslim man might desire another wife.  But the only requirement to take another wife is that he desire one and that he can act justly between his wives.  All other discussions that attempt to further restrict a man’s desire for a polygynous lifestyle are bogus and have nothing to do with Islam.

“This is an outrage. We’re turning back the clock when there’s ample evidence to show that we should not condone child marriages” was the cry of an Ivy Josiah a modern day Women’s Rights activist. She’s a strong advocate for the prevention of violence against women and for other ‘women’s rights’ as she sees them.

Okay, I am a man and a Muslim.  I definitely do not see the world and the people who live in it with the same set of values.
